Launch of Windows Phone 7
Microsoft has officially launched Windows Phone 7: access to the cloud from the mobile phone
Previously known as Windows Mobile, Windows phone 7 is the new operating system from Microsoft for the market of software for mobile platforms. Developed from scratch, it will compete with the already established iOS from Apple, Google Android, and Rim Blackberry OS 6. The CEO of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer described the new line of Windows Phone as "different" and more modern in design and principles.
One of the highlights of Windows phone 7 is that it is designed to use services in "the cloud". The files are stored in a virtual hard disk in SkyDrive service and are continuously synchronized with the terminal. This service also makes it possible to keep the activity synchronized on different social networks, like Facebook and Twitter and upload audiovisual content to different services and web platforms. On the other hand, multimedia functions, such as music and video playback, are similar to the graphical environment of the Zune player and compatible with the store MarketPlace.
Two new features premiere with Windows phone 7, "Windows phone live" and "Find my phone" , with the first content is integrated with the Windows Live platform, which allows a closer relationship between the mobile device and the web allowing datacalendars and contacts synchronized between different devices and automatically. With the second feature, Find my phone, in case of loss or theft of the device functionality you allow geolocate device, block and even delete this information through a computer with connection to the internet or from a video game console.
Another strong point is the home screen of Windows Phone 7, which is divided by 6 icons of content allowing users to quickly access the information in a simpler way and offered a look similar to the desktop versions of Windows. Icons can be moved and be eliminated, so the home screen can be completely customized.
